Five of Hearts - Peyote Cuff Bracelet

Peyote cuff bracelet called "Five of Hearts". The band is made with size 8 seed beads in white and size 8 red beads as the heart pattern. The stitch is peyote with gold size 11 seed beads used for picots. The closure is a hand made loop and toggle. The band is a little over 1 inch wide. This bracelet will fit a size 6 1/2 to 6 3/4 inch wrist. I noticed that the stores already have Valentine's items out so I thought I better get beading on some for my Etsy Shop.

Dakota - Bracelet

This is a beadwoven bracelet made with seed beads. The base is a size 8 and on that base are layers of blue and silver size 11 seed beads and in the centers of the fringe is a sapphire blue size 6 seed bead. It also has a silver toggle closure. This bracelet will fit a size 7 inch wrist. This is a very different type of bracelet for me - I usually make cuffs but this was a nice change - it took a long time to make this one as I was trying to figure it out so I may make another and hopefully it will work up quicker.

Fawn - Russian Spiral Bracelet

This is a Russian spiral bracelet made using size 6 tan pearl seed beads and a size 8 pearl seed bead. It also has a beautiful copper toggle closure. This bracelet fits a size 6 1/4" wrist. I really like these spiral bracelets and this one is just my size - maybe I will keep it! I also like this copper clasp and wish I could remember where I bought them.

Alchemy - Spiral Bracelet

So this is my second try working on this type of spiral stitch. I eliminated the bugle bead in this one and used colors that are more harmonious. I used two small triangle beads on the herringbone core - next time I would eliminate this step too and then I would just have a herringbone core and loops, I think this would work the best. Having said this I do like the look of this bracelet and it is really nice on.

Ladder Twist - Spiral Bracelet

This is a new bracelet I just finished. The core is made up of two different color size 6 seed beads and the spirals are size 8 seed beads in lilac and pearl and bugle beads in black. I have wanted to try this spiral for awhile and I think I will do it again with a size 6 seed bead or 3 mm crystal in place of the bugle bead. I also am not thrilled with the color of this bracelet. I think the size 8 beads should all be one color or very close in color - will do that in the next bracelet too. I used a black button and a loop made with size 11 seed beads for the closure.

It has a handmade loop and toggle closure and picots on the edges. I really like the look of this bracelet and it is a good way to use up extra beads - I am going to make more of these.

Golden Topaz - Flat Spiral Bracelet

New flat spiral rope bracelet - I really like this one. I found the 6mm and 4mm beads at a shop here in NJ - they were listed as Rose Golden Topaz. I looked through the seed beads and found an exact match. I really like this stitch and wonder if it would make a good necklace.

White Chapel - Peyote Bracelet

I finished this bracelet a while ago but forgot to post it. I had one container of magenta size 6 seed beads - so I made the 2 drop peyote band. The problem was it was a small container and this bracelet is small - 5 3/4 wrist size. I decorated it with a white flower, white trim and loop and toggle closure. The name - don't know where that came from??

Toast - Diagonal Peyote Bracelet

This is a diagonal peyote bracelet - I thought I would use 2 different size beads for the stripes. The dark brown is size 6 seed beads and the tan pearl color is a size 8 seed bead. I think it makes for an interesting bracelet but I am not crazy about the color - I am going to make a new one but in more favorable colors! I think you can do a lot with this pattern - just by changing the colors or bead sizes.

Southwest - Pendant and Spiral Rope Necklace

This is a new necklace and pendant I just finished. I have had a bunch of these turquoise donuts for awhile and found these really great turquoise seed beads so I decided to combine then in a pendant spiral rope combination with some black beads. I couldn't decide if I wanted fringe or not but after seeing the finished pendant I am happy I did the fringe on the bottom.
I have not had a lot of time lately to do much beading but after a trip to the local bead store yesterday I am ready to get beading again!

I just finished this bead embroidery pendant and spiral rope necklace. The center is a gold button that I have had for a LONG time - I am thinking 40 years or more. The necklace is 17 inches in length plus the closure. The pendant is 3 1/2 inches in length with the fringe and 1 3/4 inches in width. I have named this necklace Lady Macbeth - it is very dramatic. Like I have posted before I am busy making items for a craft show this month. I am making a few holiday earrings - they are fun and fast to make and will make a nice gift. I have also listed them in my Etsy Shop until the show later this month. I am thinking snowmen will be next.

It has many layers of fringe made up of different sizes of white, pearl, black and topaz beads. It has a handmade beaded toggle and a crystal flower closure. Enter Autumn - Freeform Peyote Bracelet

New freeform peyote bracelet called Enter Autumn. I do like this - just finished today (but I still think I am in a beading slump). I like the color and feel of this bracelet. It is a bit larger than I normally make - I am doing a show at the end of November and want to have some larger bracelets. This bracelet is in my Etsy Shop here.

Beading Wastland

I seem to be in a beading slump - just don't know why. I have ideas of things I would like to make but nothing that excites me. I sit and look at the beads, write down ideas and look some more, start something and end up ripping it out. I just feel so uninspired right now.

My first thought was to make something simple like a peyote bracelet just to get my hands moving - but that doesn't seem to be working for me. I may look into trying something new like RAW - I have never made anything with RAW - so that could be a go. I thought maybe I would go to the bead store yesterday but it was raining and I just didn't feel like getting into the car and going. I hate to feel this way - I don't even feel like painting either!! I know this will pass - but I just don't know when. I have tried looking at my beading books to get inspired - I am only getting confused. I really am in a beading wasteland - I even cleaned my beading room - twice! Maybe some freeform??

Sundew - Freeform Bracelet

This is a new freeform bracelet. What is different about this one is I usually do my freeform in peyote and this one is in brick stitch. I love the bright colors in this bracelet and it worked up really fast but I think I prefer doing the freeform in peyote stitch. Actually by looking it is hard to tell the difference.

More Earrings

I guess I am thinking Christmas with these earrings. I am in a bit of a beading slump and I haven't made anything of substance in a long time. I need to get back on track and get the designs going again. The earrings are fun but I am getting sick of making them - the problem with earrings is you need to make two ;)
