I decided to take a break from beadweaving for one night and make some simple earrings. Too bad I do not keep track of the beads I buy and what the stones are - well I know the top are wooden! I made 4 pair here are two and I will post the other two tomorrow.

Another new jewel encrusted pendant - this one in bronze and neutral tones. I love making these and have started one more in blue. I also spent some time today picking out some new beading projects so a bead embroidery cuff and collar is upcoming as well as some bracelets. I think 2013 is going to be the year of the spiral for me ; )

This is my second pendant and one of my favorite color combos. I love making these little pendants - they are quite addicting. I am doing another one in bronze and neutrals and it is quite nice too. I know I need to move on to something more substantial like a new cuff or collar but right now I am having fun.

So FB will not let me add photos tonight - I give up. I have finished my green freeform necklace and am calling it Viridis. I took a quick pic of it with my phone but tomorrow when it is bright (I hope) I will take some more pictures for Etsy. This was just a quick shot on my kitchen table. I really like how this turned out very interesting and different for me. I never like green much but this is a dark emerald color and looks good. Time to move on to something new ; )

I started this emerald green freeform necklace awhile ago. Then I started making the Christmas earrings and I lost focus. Now I am back and I intend to finish it. A friend gave me an old green seed bead necklace and I have had it for a long time. The color is really beautiful and I paired it with some green metallic seed beads for an accent. These are all size 8 beads so this necklace is not wimpy. I have a lot of work to do just to finish the length and the I am going to work some more layers over the top with dark green pearls and more seed beads. I originally was going to have a focal but changed my mind about that. I hope the world doesn't end before I finish this ; )

My latest earrings - in Christmas colors - gold, green and red. I don't know what got into me with all this earring making - I guess I am trying to use up my earring hooks. I am in the process of making snowmen next and they are looking just too cute. I really need to get back to a freeform peyote necklace that I started awhile back I would like to finish it.

Well here are my latest - Santa Earrings. I finished them last night and took the photo today and it was not easy - it is raining and dark but better than snow!! These are in brick stitch and measure 2 1/2 inches including the fringe and I love his little cute face!!

So here are my Christmas Tree earrings. I really love them. The problem is with the photo the red beads show up as red on the edges but in the tree they photoed dark - interesting. I am making Santa earrings now but maybe I will make another pair of these, they are such fun. I guess you could pair a tree with a Santa - my earrings never match I am such a rebel.

I am getting a little lax in my blogging. I was coming here to post my newest earrings and see I never posted the finished bead embroidery collar. So here it is Rhythm of the Night - the focal is a picasso jasper. This took quite a long time to complete because I lost focus and was doing other stuff. I took a look and decided it was worth finishing. I guess I will post the earrings tomorrow.

So I have the all of the surface beading done on my newest collar. I need to bead along the edges. Next comes the fringe - I find fringe so tedious. First I need to decide how much and what kind of fringe I want to add. Then I need to sit down and DO it. Maybe some elves will come in tonight and finish for me - but probably not! I am still not in love with this one ; (

Well I had to do something during the hurricane right. I had started this collar awhile ago but just wasn't happy with it so I put it away. I pulled it out the other day to evaluate and decided to work on it yesterday during the hurricane. I got a LOT done. I am still not in love with it but I will finish it. I am 2/3 there. What I do love is the rectangular focal.

Wow it's been a long time since I posted anything in this blog. I don't do a lot of beading over the summer months but this has been a long time coming. I finally made this double spiral bracelet the other night. A friend gave me a necklace with green size 8 and these other funky shaped beads. I took it apart and made this bracelet and I have a LOT of beads left. I have a freeform necklace started but am not making much progress on it - I keep tearing it out ; (

Last night I packed up my Caribbean Colors bracelet for her journey to the west coast - she will be visiting Marcia DeCoster. I couldn't believe how bad I felt and how much I am missing Cari. Here are a few more photos from PA - the top a stream that flows into our lake, the middle hanging with Antonio my forest face and the bottom chilling on a picnic table at the North Beach. This was such a special bracelet with all it's positive energy and such a fun project - I am so happy to have been a part of it all. The best part is that Sig has sent me the pattern for Caribbean Colors so I can make my very own Cari and that is just what I am going to do. The days are getting shorter and I am thinking about beading so it is all good.

So we went up to PA for the Labor Day holiday weekend. I brought Caribbean Colors over to my relatives house on the next lake over from us. This lake is Lake Ariel and it is a beautiful natural lake. The family has had a house on this lake for a very long time. The top photo is my cousin Terri and she is from California and was very color coordinated wearing Cari. The bottom pic is Laura from Pittsburgh and Cari looked great with her bright orange top. Note the motor boat going by in the background - bet they are jealous they didn't get a good close look at Cari. My time with Caribbean Colors is winding down, I'm sorry to say but I still have a few more pics to post before she leaves NJ.

Saturday 09-01-2012 we took a trip up to our house in PA. Cari was very excited to be coming along - this is another state under her belt. The day was beautiful and we left early so we didn't hit any traffic - pretty good for a holiday weekend. The top photo is Cari sitting on the railing of my deck admiring the woods with the lake in the background through the trees. The middle photo was taken on a rock by the lake - the fish and the turtle were loving the water view. The last is another shot off of my deck. I have a lot more photos and adventures for show and tell coming soon.

So I remembered to put the memory card back in the camera this AM and also had it charged (just in case). Cari and I did our morning stroll around Four Seasons. The top photo is over looking the 9th hole of our golf course. Maybe when Cari is finished with her travels she may take up golf (it could happen). The bottom photo is Cari admiring the pond across from my house. I was hoping to get a few ducks in the shot but they stayed down the other end of the pond. I bet they were jealous. I don't know what tomorrow will bring but a PA trip to the lake is coming this weekend.

The Caribbean Colors bracelet came into my life on Monday and she will be staying with me for a week. This project is called The Amazing Adventures of the Traveling Bracelets - brain child of Sig Wynne-Evans and you can read all about it here. You can even sign up to have one of the 10 bracelets visit you for a week stay that's how I came to have Cari. This bracelet has the most amazing bright colors and such good positive energy - you can't help but be happy wearing it.
I planned on taking Cari with me on my morning walk - well I did take her and my camera. I had lots of photo sites planned and found out I left the memory card in my computer. The top photo is me back after my AM walk looking silly because I didn't have any photos. The next two pictures are Cari visiting with our Harley Davidson motorcycle and me looking directly into the sun. I have more adventures planned and I bet I remember to put the memory card into the camera!!

Halloween is my favorite holiday - I celebrate it for the whole month of October. I decorate my house - take out my Halloween Tarot Deck and just enjoy the fall season. I thought I would make up some earrings for me to wear - I like to have lots of choices. So far I have completed the bats and started on the ghosts. I think I will do a witch (of course) and a pumpkin or two. These are such fun, easy to make and quick. You can also mix or match. I don't want to rush the season as I am enjoying the end of summer but I am loving my scary earrings!!

This is a new freeform bracelet that I just started. I am loving it so far and the length is almost finished - 6 1/2 to fit me of course. I want to add more surface texture, maybe some more layers and decorate the edges. I have a beautiful black and silver button to use as the closure. I really am having a good time beading this and I can see more of these in my future using some other colors. This is my learning experience and I hope to iron out all the kinks with this one. I have a ton of ideas about using focals and surface decorations with these freeform bracelets - but I gotta finish this first one.

I haven't posted in a long time but I have been beading. I finished these 2 bracelets awhile ago - love them both and they are for me. I was so inspired by this bracelet and two others by Nancy Dale - that I thought I needed to try to make one for myself. I made the black one first and wore it around and got a ton of compliments so I decided to make the peach colored one for a more summery look. Nancy said she was inspired to make her bracelets by NanC Meinhardt's Izzy and Lucy bracelets. These are fun to make in a modified RAW stitch and I am finally feeling comfortable with RAW now. I have never used snaps for a closure on a bracelet before and I sewed the snap down backwards and boy did I stitch it securely - I will never make that mistake again. I want to thank Nancy Dale for the inspiration she is one great bead artist - visit her website here for a look at more of her amazing work.

So I finally finished this cuff - I don't know why but it took so long to finish - maybe because I wasn't working on it!!!! I do like it and it is much larger than I normally make - it will fit a 7 1/2 inch wrist - way to big for me. I thought it might be a good idea to make something a bit larger for my shop. I really like the colors in this one. I went to the Museum and saw a few of Monet's paintings hence the name. Time to figure out my next project - I really hate to be between projects with no clear idea for the next - sigh.

So I started this new cuff a few days ago but I have not made too much progress. I wasn't liking it much but I am continuing to work and I am liking it a bit better now. I think the trick is to not give up too soon but work a little more and see how you feel - so I think I am going to finish this one. I went to see the Van Gogh show at the Philadelphia Museum and got so inspired, about painting of course, but also beading. I am thinking some art inspired cuffs - we shall see how that goes ; )
