Just finished this bead embroidery pendant and spiral rope necklace. It is called The Water Lily. I know the flower focal does not look too much like a water lily but this was the feeling I got with this piece. The focal is surrounded by lime green keshi pearls and various seed beads in shades of lavender, purple and lime green. The fringe is a combination of fringe and spiral rope and the necklace is also a spiral rope. The loop and toggle closure is small and gold. I original was going to make a bead embroidery bracelet but it just was not happening I guess it wanted to be the necklace - sometimes that happens. I like this piece a lot.

Star Gazers from Heather Collin. I am thinking I need at least one to three more of these bangles to wear together - so I will make them in the same colors so it is a set.

Star Gazers. It was an easy pattern to follow but I still get confused in my direction with RAW so I took it pretty slow. I want to really know I understand this so I am going to make a few more of these - a plus because then I can wear an arm full of lovely bangles!!!! I am happy with the way this bangle worked up and it looks and feels great - another plus. I could have done a lot more to embellish it but I just wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing on the first one. I also want to wish everyone a very HAPPY VALENTINES DAY. I am off to make a new bangle - maybe in pinks.

In recent years I have noticed that at Hollywood events and on TV a lack of jewelry. No so this year - on the red carpet and some new shows I am seeing a return to jewelry in a big way and this makes me happy. The first photo is Juliet Simms a contestant on the Voice - she was wearing a large cuff - it had to be 5 or 6 inches wide and was so amazing. This is the best photo I could find on the web but you get the idea. I am also seeing J-Lo with a lot of bangles on American idol this year. I am seeing lots of jewelry on the Red Carpet at award shows and I can't wait to see who will be wearing what for the Grammys. I love the look of wearing a lot of bangles together - so I am going to make a lot of bangles!!! I just purchased a great pattern from Heather Collin called Star Gazers. I love these kits by Marcia Decoster for bangles, very cool and they go together great. I also have quite a few other bangle ideas and I can't wait to get started. I hope this trend continues because I love seeing jewelry that I find interesting on our TV and movie stars.

I just finished this bead embroidery pendant and spiral rope necklace which I have named Twist of Fate. For the pendant I used a turquoise donut and I love the markings on it. The background color of the donut is a pewter so I decided to use turquoise and pewter colored beads for this - pretty much a no brainer. I have always liked the fringe Sherry Serafini used for her collar A Mermaid's Attire. I loved the use of spiral rope for the fringe - unfortunately I did not have enough of the turquoise seed beads to do all my fringe in spiral rope so I did a few and then did regular fringe for the rest - and I think it works well for this piece. When it came to doing the rope necklace I toyed with the idea of cubic RAW (since I have learned to do this stitch and like it) but I thought I did not want to mix my stitches for this piece and I opted for spiral rope for the necklace as well. I am really happy with the result and want to explore this idea further - I think the dark color and long fringe make it and edgier piece and that is what I am going for right now. Although I love crystals and lots of bling - that is not where my head is right now. I am ready to go look through my cabs and come up with a great focal and start my next piece. Twist of Fate is in my Etsy shop here.
